2,600 years old it is one of the oldest cities in the world. Istanbul is the one and only city in the world, which resides on two continents. Here Europe and Asia are like two lovers who reach their lips out towards each other to kiss. It is located on two continents, which is both separated and connected by the Bosphorus Sea.
Istanbul is intoxicating and exciting with a wealth of history the Sultanahmet Mosque (The Blue Mosque) raises in the heart of the historical peninsula, right next to the hippodrome and adjacent to or opposite the Hagia Sophia.
Sadly like so many areas of the world things have conspired recently to affect tourism and travel in the region. That said this is a very beautiful part of the world and the people are friendly and very kind and helpful and whilst the region is dependant on visitors and tourists we should repay their hospitality by continuing to travel and support them.
