There is a great affinity between those of use who live in Scotland and those who live in N.Z. Certainly South Island has a very Scottish feel and look to it, the landscape seems very familiar and comforting.
Maybe it is the connection through rugby, which draws us closer together, or the joint appreciation of the spiritual bounty from enjoying outdoors pursuits and the great open and unspoilt wilderness enjoyed by both our nations.
New Zealand certainly grabbed me and the people are so warm and generous, kind and courteous. So much so that it is like home from home, relaxing and just a natural environment to unwind in. Leaving this idyllic corner of the world was not easy, so I hope with time and funds at some future date I will return to spend more time and see more of this wonderful country.
