THE CUILLINS Isle of Skye
Having once lived on Skye for some 20 years the Cuillins became a daily feature for me as my house looked directly at them from across the Loch.
I was able to observe them through all their seasons and my cameras were always close at hand. These magnificent and majestic mountains dominate the landscape and are very much the heart of the Island.
I have always felt they should form part of a National Park for the Scottish Nation and in particular for the people of Skye. Any proposed National Park should in my opinion include both the Black Cuillins & the Red Cuillins.
The Black Cuillins are MacLeod Clan lands and the Red Cuillins form part of the Scottish land bank held by the John Muir Trust.
Together these lands form some of the most valuable and diverse wild & unspoilt lands in Scotland and if managed as a whole they would be a fantastic legacy for future generations.
There is an old proverb which says - "Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents. It was loaned to you by your children."
