I just love this city it excites me beyond belief it tingles with a vibrant energy and bustle and has a cosmopolitan mix of nations and cultures that drive it forward as it thrusts and surges through each new day. Yet it also possesses hidden areas of tranquillity and a rich sophistication that makes the New York experience so enriching and so addictive.
Mayor Giuliani should go down in history as New York’s saviour for the fantastic spirit drive and enthusiasm he engendered into the Central Park regeneration. It is now one of those wonderful spaces surrounded by a fast moving world where reflection and tranquillity is still possible to sooth the inner soul. Mayor Giuliani has worked tirelessly to pass New York to the next generation better and more beautiful than it was before he entered office.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) has impressed me with their generosity and kindness. I have enjoyed numerous conversations with officers whilst they go about their daily duties and so many of them have been gracious enough to pose for photographs, they are a credit to New York. I would love to be engaged to create a photographic book and documentation of the NYPD from a visitor’s perspective through the eyes of a non New Yorker. New York has established itself as the City others look toward when they want to study the most innovative strategies for reducing crime,
If you have never been to New York then I hope you enjoy this photographic library and for those who have been before then I hope this rekindles memories. I personally hope to return to NY as often as I can because for me it is enriching, inspirational and creatively addictive.
