Street Art - Barcelona
Barcelona is very much a city for the arts and for me this was demonstrated right down at street level with the vibrant and exciting street art.
Just off La Rambla there are a number of small back streets where the security shutters have been artistically painted some to demonstrate what the shop sells when open, whilst others have been painted with just pure fantastic uninhibited artistic freedom and flare.
Many cities around the world have street art and perhaps for some “Graffiti” better describes this or even the vandalism of city buildings but it is a culture of our time like tattoos and piercing.
It is an expression of creativity and individuality and it is without question vibrant and exciting when viewed from this perspective.
