This romantic and beautiful Greek island is like no other. The whole island is one huge mound of volcanic lava, the sea around it is 380 meters deep and is deepest and a darkest blue right to the water’s edge. The sea around Santorini conceals the abyss and in the middle is the volcano. The houses cling almost precariously to this mound of volcanic rock with an unbelievable charm.
Today it is an island that exudes charm, artistic and creative cultures and above all a stunning beauty, which nourishes and naturally feeds love and romance. Consequently the island has become popular for weddings and with honeymooners and unquestionably romantics.
I found this island absolutely inspirational and truly creative. Since visiting and returning, I have dreamt of buying a small studio on the island and living my life out amongst other creative and artistic creatures. The colours and the style of the houses and the sheer beauty of this island is a heady cocktail.
