The Fairey Bridge as it is called is but a short distance from Dunvegan. It has derived it's name from a legend that a Fairey meeting the MacLeod Clan Chief bestowed upon him the "Fairey Flag" which when unfurled would protect his clan in future battles. Those wishing to learn more of this legend should visit Dunvegan Castle.
